Work Today

I know I've told you that I am a student at Gainesville State College, but like pretty much every college student I also have a part time job. My part time job is that I work at party city.

Yes I get to blow balloons up and get paid. Don't get me wrong though I hate working in retail and can't wait to be able to find another way to make money. Hopefully by playing music somehow.

Well Since I'm in kind of a hurry today I just wanted to post two songs for you guys today. The first one is what I have to listen to every 20 or so minutes while I am working at party city, and the second selection is what I feel like whenever I hear the first song.

The name of the Darkthrone song translated to English means "Checkmate Jesus Christ"

Mike Patton

Alright, today I want to stray a bit from the classical style of music and shift to something a little more on the wild side. For those of you who don't know who Mike Patton is, you probably know him as the lead singer of "Faith no More". Which is the band he is most famous for. However, he is in my mind the Frank Zappa of his generation. He has been involved with groups such as: Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom, Dillinger Escape Plan, and he has also collaborated with Bjork.

Mike Patton is one of my personal heroes for many reasons, and I hope you will take some time to look at more of his work because I cannot explain his greatness myself you will just have to find out for yourself.

I will leave you all with one sample of Mike Patton.

What up Y'all

Hello my name is Ryan and I created this blog to share with everyone the kind of music that I enjoy. This is not intended to be about a specific genre or style of music, but rather about all the interesting types of music that I find through friends, family, and anyone or anything really.

This first video I am posting is very relevant to me because I will be performing this piece tonight with my Brass Ensemble. We are from Gainesville State College in Gainesville, GA. Another reason I created this blog is to share with the world what it's like to be a undergraduate music performer major, and the experiences that come with it. I hope to put a recording of our Brass Ensemble on here soon. Anyways, I hope to hear from you guys about what you think.
